Gender — Seventh of the Seven Hermetic Laws

Saturday, October 25, 2008

"Gender is in everything; everything has its Masculine and Feminine Principles; Gender manifests on all planes." -- The Kybalion

This Principle embodies the truth that there is GENDER manifested in everything--the Masculine and Feminine Principles ever at work. This is true not only of the Physical Plane, but of the Mental and even the Spiritual Planes. On the Physical Plane, the Principle manifests as SEX, on the higher planes it takes higher forms, but the Principle is ever the same. No creation, physical, mental or spiritual, is possible without this Principle.

Everything, and every person, contains the two Elements or Principles, or this great Principle, within it, him or her. Every Male thing has the Female Element also; every Female contains also the Male Principle. If you would understand the philosophy of Mental and Spiritual Creation, Generation, and Re-generation, you must understand and study this Hermetic Principle.

Cause & Effect — Sixth of the Seven Hermetic Laws

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

"Every Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause; everything happens according to Law; Chance is but a name for Law not recognized; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the Law." -- The Kybalion

This Principle embodies the fact that there is a Cause for every Effect; an Effect from every Cause. It explains that: "Everything Happens according to Law"; that nothing ever "merely happens"; that there is no such thing as Chance; that while there are various planes of Cause and Effect, the higher dominating- the lower planes, still nothing ever entirely escapes the Law. The Hermetists understand the art and methods of rising above the ordinary plane of Cause and Effect, to a certain degree, and by mentally rising to a higher plane they become Causers instead of Effects.

Rhythm — Fifth of the Seven Hermetic Laws

Thursday, October 16, 2008

"Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates."

-- The Kybalion

This Principle embodies the truth that in everything there is manifested a measured motion, to and fro; a flow and inflow; a swing backward and forward; a pendulum-like movement; a tide-like ebb and flow; a high-tide and low-tide; between the two poles which exist in accordance with the Principle of Polarity described a moment ago. There is always an action and a reaction; an advance and a retreat; a rising and a sinking. This is in the affairs of the Universe, suns, worlds, men, animals, mind, energy, and matter. This law is manifest in the creation and destruction of worlds; in the rise and fall of nations; in the life of all things; and finally in the mental states of Man (and it is with this latter that the Hermetists find the understanding of the Principle most important).

More information.

The importance of this will be appreciated by any thinking person who realizes what creatures of moods, feelings and emotion the majority of people are, and how little mastery of themselves they manifest. If you will stop and consider a moment, you will realize how much these swings of Rhythm have affected you in your life-how a period of Enthusiasm has been invariably followed by an opposite feeling and mood of Depression. Likewise, your moods and periods of Courage have been succeeded by equal moods of Fear. And so it has ever been with the majority of persons-tides of feeling have ever risen and fallen with them, but they have never suspected the cause or reason of the mental phenomena. An understanding of the workings of this Principle will give one the key to the Mastery of these rhythmic swings of feeling, and will enable him to know himself better and to avoid being carried away by these inflows and outflows. The Will is superior to the conscious manifestation of this Principle, although the Principle itself can never be destroyed. We may escape its effects, but the Principle operates, nevertheless. The pendulum ever swings, although we may escape being carried along with it.

Polarity — Fourth of the Seven Hermetic Laws

Sunday, October 12, 2008

"Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled."

-- The Kybalion.

It explains the old paradoxes, that have perplexed so many, which have been stated as follows: "Thesis and antithesis are identical in nature, but different in degree"; "opposites are the same, differing only in degree"

To illustrate: Heat and Cold, although "opposites," are really the same thing, the differences consisting merely of degrees of the same thing. Look at your thermometer and see if you can discover where "heat" terminates and "cold" begins! There is no such thing as "absolute heat" or "absolute cold"--the two terms "heat" and "cold" simply indicate varying degrees of the same thing, and that 'same thing" which manifests as "heat' and 'cold" is merely a form, variety, and rate of Vibration.

Complete article here.

And it is this fact that enables the Hermetist to transmute one mental state into another, along the lines of Polarization. Things belonging to different classes cannot be transmuted into each other, but things of the same class may be changed, that is, may have their polarity changed. Thus Love never becomes East or West, or Red or Violet-but it may and often does turn into Hate and likewise Hate may be transformed into Love, by changing its polarity. Courage may be transmuted into Fear, and the reverse. Hard things may be rendered Soft.

Vibration — Third of the Seven Hermetic Laws

Vibration — Third of the Seven Hermetic Laws
by Bruce Rawles

"Listen-perhaps you catch a hint of an ancient state not quite forgotten; dim, perhaps, and yet not altogether unfamiliar, like a song whose name is long forgotten; and the circumstances in which you heard completely unremembered. Not the whole song has stayed with you, but just a little wisp of melody, attached not to a person or a place or anything particular. But you remember, from just this little part, how lovely was the song, how wonderful the setting where you heard it, and how you loved those who were there and listened with you."

— from The Forgotten Song (Chap. 21) from the text of A Course In Miracles

The Law of Vibration (Light, Sound, and other Senses … and Stillness) — Keyword: Strength

The third of the seven laws or principles is given the name Vibration in the Kybalion, along with the phrase "Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates." — The Kybalion

Physics teaches us that all of our senses have a vibrational aspect in one way or another. Sound and light are the obvious examples as they correspond to the spectra of acoustical pressure and electromagnetic energy — we hear about 10 octaves and see about 1 octave respectively, out of what are probably infinite spectra. The other three senses of taste, smell and touch also (when analyzed in terms of the biochemistry involved) can be thought of in terms of vibratory phenomena, harmonics, overtones and phase relationships and amplitudes, just as our two primary senses are. We typically spend most of our time involved with our sensory world, in one form or another, yet the evidence from the biological and physical sciences tell us that all of our perceptions are quite limited (1 tiny octave or 10 out of an infinite number) and unreliable (just look at the wide assortment of optical illusions for example.) Perceptions also can vary widely from person to person — the classic story of the Blind Men and the Elephant comes to mind, where each describes a different portion, but no partial examination reveals the whole story. More importantly, the meaning and interpretations we give our perceptions literally fabricate our model of an external world. Perhaps trees falling in forests with no one around really don't make a sound!

The law of Vibration, combined with the laws of Mentalism and Correspondence covered in the previous chapters, brings us the understanding that the realm of mind — our thoughts, feelings and attitudes — all have a vibrational counterpart. Our outer vibratory state also can correspond to our inner vibratory state… but doesn't always necessarily. We may not get to choose what our external senses appear to deliver to us, but we certainly have a choice of whether we are the puppets of what impinges on our senses (the vibrations that seem to influence us) … or whether we proactively choose to recognize the dreamlike quality of our external experience and not make it our master.

Correspondence — Second of the Seven Hermetic Laws

Friday, October 3, 2008

"As above, so below; as below, so above." -- The Kybalion.

This Principle embodies the truth that there is always a Correspondence between the laws and phenomena of the various planes of Being and Life. The old Hermetic axiom ran in these words: "As above, so below; as below, so above." and the grasping of this Principle gives one the means of solving many a dark paradox, and hidden secret of Nature. There are planes beyond our knowing, but when we apply the Principle of Correspondence to them we are able to understand much that would otherwise be unknowable to us. This Principle is of universal application and manifestation, on the various planes of the material, mental, and spiritual universe--it is an Universal Law. The ancient Hermetists considered this Principle as one of the most important mental instruments by which man was able to pry aside the obstacles which hid from view the Unknown. Its use even tore aside the Veil of Isis to the extent that a glimpse of the face of the goddess might be caught. Just as a knowledge of the Principles of Geometry enables man to measure distant suns and their movements, while seated in his observatory, so a knowledge of the Principle of Correspondence enables Man to reason intelligently from the Known to the Unknown. Studying the monad, he understands the archangel.

For the purpose of convenience of thought and study, the Hermetic Philosophy considers that the Universe may be divided into three great classes of phenomena, known as the Three Great Planes, namely:

I.The Great Physical Plane.
II.The Great Mental Plane.
III.The Great Spiritual Plane.

Planes of correspondence...

Mentalism — First of the Seven Hermetic Laws

Monday, September 29, 2008

"THE ALL IS MIND; The Universe is Mental." -- The Kybalion.

This Principle embodies the truth that "All is Mind." It explains that THE ALL (which is the Substantial Reality underlying all the outward manifestations and appearances which we know under the terms of "The Material Universe"; the "Phenomena of Life"; "Matter"; "Energy"; and, in short, all that is apparent to our material senses) is SPIRIT which in itself is UNKNOWABLE and UNDEFINABLE, but which may be considered and thought of as AN UNIVERSAL, INFINITE, LIVING MIND.

This Principle explains the true nature of "Energy," "Power," and "Matter," and why and how all these are subordinate to the Mastery of Mind. One of the old Hermetic Masters wrote, long ages ago: "He who grasps the truth of the Mental Nature of the Universe is well advanced on The Path to Mastery." And these words are as true today as at the time they were first written. Without this Master-Key, Mastery is impossible, and the student knocks in vain at the many doors of The Temple.

The Hermetic Philosophy

Saturday, September 27, 2008

From old Egypt have come the fundamental esoteric and occult teachings which have so strongly influenced the philosophies of all races, nations and peoples, for several thousand years. Egypt, the home of the Pyramids and the Sphinx, was the birthplace of the Hidden Wisdom and Mystic Teachings. From her Secret Doctrine all nations have borrowed. India, Persia, Chaldea, Medea, China, Japan, Assyria, ancient Greece and Rome, and other ancient countries partook liberally at the feast of knowledge which the Hierophants and Masters of the Land of Isis so freely provided for those who came prepared to partake of the great store of Mystic and Occult Lore which the masterminds of that ancient land had gathered together.

But among these great Masters of Ancient Egypt there once dwelt one of whom Masters hailed as "The Master of Masters." This man, if "man" indeed he was, dwelt in Egypt in the earliest days. He was known as Hermes Trismegistus. He was the father of the Occult Wisdom; the founder of Astrology; the discoverer of Alchemy. The details of his life story are lost to history, owing to the lapse of the years, though several of the ancient countries disputed with each other in their claims to the honor of having furnished his birthplace-- and this thousands of years ago. The date of his sojourn in Egypt, in that his last incarnation on this planet, is not now known, but it has been fixed at the early days of the oldest dynasties of Egypt--long before the days of Moses. The best authorities regard him as a contemporary of Abraham, and some of the Jewish traditions go so far as to claim that Abraham acquired a portion of his mystic knowledge from Hermes himself.

As the years rolled by after his passing from this plane of life (tradition recording that he lived three hundred years in the flesh), the Egyptians deified Hermes, and made him one of their gods, under the name of Thoth. Years after, the people of Ancient Greece also made him one of their many gods--calling him "Hermes, the god of Wisdom." The Egyptians revered his memory for many centuries-yes, tens of centuries--calling him "the Scribe of the Gods,' and bestowing upon him, distinctively, his ancient title, "Trismegistus," which means "the thrice-great"; "the great-great"; "the greatest-great"; etc. In all the ancient lands, the name of Hermes Trismegistus was revered, the name being synonymous with the "Fount of Wisdom.

The Seven Hermetic Principles, upon which the entire Hermetic Philosophy is based, are as follows:

THE PRINCIPLE OF MENTALISM.
THE PRINCIPLE OF CORRESPONDENCE.
THE PRINCIPLE OF VIBRATION.
THE PRINCIPLE OF POLARITY.
THE PRINCIPLE OF RHYTHM.
THE PRINCIPLE OF CAUSE AND EFFECT.
THE PRINCIPLE OF GENDER.

Looking Back at Five Years of Bush's Wreckage in Iraq

Saturday, September 20, 2008

"In the five years since the initial looting and pillaging of the Iraqi capital, thieves have stolen at least 32,000 items from some 12,000 archaeological sites across Iraq with no interference whatsoever from the occupying power. No funds have been appropriated by the American or Iraqi governments to protect the most valuable and vulnerable historical sites on Earth, even though experience has shown that just a daily helicopter overflight usually scares off looters. In 2006, the World Monuments Fund took the unprecedented step of putting the entire country of Iraq on its list of the most endangered sites. All of this occurred on George W. Bush's watch and impugned any moral authority he might have claimed."

"In the months before he ordered the invasion of Iraq, George Bush and his senior officials spoke of preserving Iraq's "patrimony" for the Iraqi people. At a time when talking about Iraqi oil was taboo, what he meant by patrimony was exactly that -- Iraqi oil. In their "joint statement on Iraq's future" of April 8, 2003, George Bush and Tony Blair declared, "We reaffirm our commitment to protect Iraq's natural resources, as the patrimony of the people of Iraq, which should be used only for their benefit."[1] In this they were true to their word. Among the few places American soldiers actually did guard during and in the wake of their invasion were oil fields and the Oil Ministry in Baghdad. But the real Iraqi patrimony, that invaluable human inheritance of thousands of years, was another matter. At a time when American pundits were warning of a future "clash of civilizations," our occupation forces were letting perhaps the greatest of all human patrimonies be looted and smashed."

'The World As We Know It Is Going Down'

Thursday, September 18, 2008

"Panic is the word of the hour on Wall Street. Now even Morgan Stanley is fighting for survival. The commercial bank Wachovia and China's Bank Citic are being discussed as possible rescuers. The crisis has led President Bush to cancel a trip."

Things got worse after the markets closed. Washington Mutual, America's fourth-largest bank, announced that it had started the process of putting itself up for sale. The Wall Street Journal reported that both Wells Fargo and the banking giant Citigroup were interested in taking over the battered American savings bank.

And then came the announcement that would dominate all of Thursday's market activities: Morgan Stanley -- the venerable Wall Street institution and one of the last two US investment banks left standing -- had lost massive amounts and was fighting for survival. Media reports were saying that it was even in talks about a possible bail-out or merger. Rumor had it that possible suitors might include Wachovia or China's Bank Citic.

Burning Incense Is Psychoactive

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

ScienceDaily (May 20, 2008) — Religious leaders have contended for millennia that burning incense is good for the soul. Now, biologists have learned that it is good for our brains too. An international team of scientists, including researchers from Johns Hopkins University and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, describe how burning frankincense (resin from the Boswellia plant) activates poorly understood ion channels in the brain to alleviate anxiety or depression. This suggests that an entirely new class of depression and anxiety drugs might be right under our noses

Complete article here.

“In spite of information stemming from ancient texts, constituents of Bosweilla had not been investigated for psychoactivity,” said Raphael Mechoulam, one of the research study’s co-authors. “We found that incensole acetate, a Boswellia resin constituent, when tested in mice lowers anxiety and causes antidepressive-like behavior. Apparently, most present day worshipers assume that incense burning has only a symbolic meaning.”

The Chaos Theory & The Butterfly Effect

Friday, September 5, 2008

"The flapping of a single butterfly's wing today produces a tiny change in the state of the atmosphere. Over a period of time, what the atmosphere actually does diverges from what it would have done. So, in a month's time, a tornado that would have devastated the Indonesian coast doesn't happen. Or maybe one that wasn't going to happen, does. (Ian Stewart, Does God Play Dice? The Mathematics of Chaos, pg. 141)"

"Just a small change in the initial conditions can drastically change the long-term behavior of a system. "

"As a result, even though chaos is a mathematical phenomenon, most of the research into chaos was done by people in other areas, such as meteorology and ecology. The field of chaos sprouted up as a hobby for scientists working on problems that maybe had something to do with it."

"Chaos has already had a lasting effect on science, yet there is much still left to be discovered. Many scientists believe that twentieth century science will be known for only three theories: relativity, quantum mechanics, and chaos. Aspects of chaos show up everywhere around the world, from the currents of the ocean and the flow of blood through fractal blood vessels to the branches of trees and the effects of turbulence. Chaos has inescapably become part of modern science. As chaos changed from a little-known theory to a full science of its own, it has received widespread publicity. Chaos theory has changed the direction of science: in the eyes of the general public, physics is no longer simply the study of subatomic particles in a billion-dollar particle accelerator, but the study of chaotic systems and how they work."

Death of the Bees

Death of the Bees: GMO Crops and the Decline of Bee Colonies in North America
by Brit Amos
Global Research, March 25, 2008

‘Commercial beehives pollinate over a third of [North}America’s crops and that web of nourishment encompasses everything from fruits like peaches, apples, cherries, strawberries and more, to nuts like California almonds, 90 percent of which are helped along by the honeybees. Without this pollination, you could kiss those crops goodbye, to say nothing of the honey bees produce or the flowers they also fertilize’.1

This essay will discuss the arguments and seriousness that affects the massive deaths and the decline of Bee colonies in North America. As well, it will shed light on a worldwide hunger issue that will have an economical and ecological impact in the very near future.

There are many reasons given to the decline in Bees, but one argument that matters most is the use of Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) and Terminator seeds that are presently being endorsed by governments and forcefully utilized as our primary agricultural needs of survival. I will argue what is publicized and covered by the media is in actuality, masking the real problems of Terminator seeds and Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO’s).

Terminator seeds; genetically produced and distributed by powerful multinational lobbies manipulate government and agricultural policy to encompass their agenda of dominance in the agricultural industry. American conglomerates such as Monsanto, Pioneer Seeds, and others, have created seeds that do not reproduce (whereas these seeds have a life span of the crop chosen). The sterilizing of the plant by the means of sterilizing the flower pollen genetically altered and mutated for production in the agricultural industry. Logic states that if the flower pollen is sterile, bees are potentially going malnourished and dying of illness due to the lack of nutrients and the interruption of the of the digestive capacity of what they feed on through the summer and over the winter hibernation process.

I will argue that the media’s publications distract the civil population of the true cause of the Colony Collapse of Bees. As such, outlined are four major arguments in which the conglomerates of GMO’s and terminator seeds use to redirect public awareness concerning the truth about the demise of the bees. These arguments include Varroa mites, parasites, cell phones, and terminator seeds

The Zen Marketing

Saturday, August 23, 2008

The wonders of marketing and mass consumism. Interesting little article about how something that might bring some knowledge to people has been used to increase someone´s company sells... and if you think about it, everything is like this... buy, buy, buy... and there i go!

Truth in the form of a lie.

..."Zen candles, Zen alarm clocks, Zen gardens that come in a box, and so on. Would you like a Zen screen protector? How about the Creative Zen 4GB Digital Player? Or audio treats such as The Zen of Golf, Husker Du's Zen Arcade, or The Zen of Screaming: Vocal Instruction for a New Breed?"

"how ideas that are originally mystical or esoteric make their way into mass culture. How do these ideas get out? And what do such ostensibly terrible things as commercialization and vulgarization have to do with this process? "

"The point I'm making is not about Zen as such, but rather that these ideas leak into the mass culture in the form of cliches, slogans, and trinkets. As Gurdjieff said, they have to.

There is one little detail that complicates matters a bit. Supposedly there are the enlightened masters and the endarkened masses of mankind. Supposedly. But as a matter of fact, each of us has both of these levels in us. There is a part of the mind that is illumined (the problem is that the conscious mind usually isn't in touch with it). There is also a part of the mind that isn't illumined; it's naïve and mechanical. It only takes seriously what it can see and feel and touch. It may not like meditation but it may warm at the sight of a sacred picture or even a crystal. Yet this part of the mind is just as necessary to our functioning as are higher levels of consciousness.

Which all means, I suppose, that there's no reason to chide yourself for your collection of sacred crystals and feathers or to throw away your Zen alarm clock. Who knows? You may find one day that it wakes you up in more ways than one. "

Note:
On a little side note... i did a quick search on Amazon.com for "Zen"... and yeah... you can just imagine!

Scientists have officially declared life to be completely chaotic!

Monday, August 18, 2008

"Scientists have officially declared life to be completely chaotic" ... did I miss something?? didnt we know that already? =)

"While there's no universally accepted definition of chaos, chaotic phenomena generally have three characteristics: They display highly disordered behavior-like the random branching of a lightening bolt or the twirling path of a falling leaf, they can change dramatically in response to insignificant events - a normally functioning heart, for instance, may suddenly start to beat erratically if a few random neurons fire out of sync; and chaotic phenomena may actually follow patterns that are detectable-if you look closely."

Complete aricle.

"Chaos theory attempts to explain the fact that complex and unpredictable results can and will occur in systems that are sensitive to their initial conditions. A common example of this is known as the Butterfly Effect. It states that, in theory, the flutter of a butterfly's wings in China could, in fact, actually effect weather patterns in New York City, thousands of miles away. In other words, it is possible that a very small occurance can produce unpredictable and sometimes drastic results by triggering a series of increasingly significant events. "

Finding Order in Chaos.

"So...what's the use of chaos?Chaos raises many interesting philosophical issues and can lead to many fruitful mathematical investigations. But is it of any use? Well, yes. The heart is thought to behave chaotically when it goes into fibrillation after a heart attack. Intense study is going on to see whether chaos theory can help predict this and to design pacemakers to restore a fibrillating heart to its normal regularity. Car brakes squealing occur in a chaotic pattern: in this case, randomness is less destructive than regular mechanical wearing. Some modern encryption systems use chaotic signals. Fractals (closely related to chaotic maps) are very important in computer graphics. Lasers, power systems, fluid motions, disease epidemics, car suspensions, capsizing ships and particle accelerators, all depend on chaos. However, to answer our first question, chaos cannot be used to predict the future. As far as I know nothing can do that! "

I was trying to find an article talking about chaos in our everyday lives but so far no luck. It just weird how sometimes people tend to see their lifes drawn in and predictect, with a future plan. And then something comes along and sweeps those plans under the rug creating chaos. But even better is how thanks to that chaos people find things that were missing and start drawing a new future.................................only to be swept away again!!!.... order in chaos! Gotta love this subject.

What is the "Third Eye"?

Monday, August 11, 2008

Our eyes are the viewers of reality, or at least what we think is reality
In the physical body, your eyes look outward - though it views objects upside down. It next sends the message of what it observes... to the brain, which interprets the image and makes it appear right side up to us.

But the human body has another physical eye, whose function has long been recognized by humanity. It is called the 'Third Eye' which in reality, is the Pineal Gland. It is the Spiritual Third Eye, our Inner Vision, and it is considered the Seat of the Soul. It is locatedin the geometric center of the cranium.

This gland is activated by Light, and it controls the various biorhythms of the body.It works in harmony with the hypothalamus gland, which directs the body's thirst, hunger, sexual desire and the biological clock, that determines our aging process.
When the pineal gland awakens, one feels a pressure at the base of the brain. This pressure will often be experienced, when connecting to higher frequency. A head injury, can also activate the Third Eye - Pineal Gland.

While the physiological function of the pineal gland, has been unknown until recent times, mystical traditions and esoteric schools, have long known, this areain the middle of the brain, to be the connecting link... between the physical and spiritual worlds.

The third eye and the pineal gland.

I dont believe in Global Warming caused by people... maybe there is something bigger happening out there and we are just trying to find someone to blame. Yes we have and still keep polluting the only place we can call home... and of course we are going to have to pay for it.

" Even greater climate change could be on the way. Growing numbers of scientists fear that the warming trend will so disrupt ocean circulation patterns that the Gulf Stream, the current that warms large parts of the northern hemisphere, could temporarily shut down. If that happens, global warming would, ironically, produce global cooling ~ and bring on a deep freeze

Power of the Mind as Healer Shown By Pioneering Scientist

Monday, August 4, 2008

This article is not about the New wave of people that say about just thinking positive they will make a difference... this guy is actually backing that with scientific information... interesting!

"He set up New Awakenings, giving talks and workshops about the power of the mind over the body. While many new-age types talk about positive thinking, Hamilton is different, in that he gives listeners a view based on the latest developments in chemistry, biology and physics. By presenting arguments backed by science, he hopes to motivate people to work on their minds in order to improve their health: "With faith, hope and determination people can change the state of their health, life and world".

"I have found around 500 scientific papers from mainstream academic journals which directly talk about the effect that thought, feeling and faith have on the body’s systems," he says. Recent research into spontaneous remissions from cancer found that a radical change of belief system seemed to be a common factor. While few would argue with the idea that a good attitude can speed the healing process, Hamilton believes emotions, such as happiness, can change DNA."

"Hamilton says: "About 99.9 per cent of our genes are exactly the same. The differences between us are determined by whether our genes are switched on or off. "There is a whole branch of medicine called psycho-neuro-immunology, which studies the effect of thoughts and emotions on our biochemistry. The biochemistry is intimately connected with the DNA, so if these biologichemical components are affected by thoughts and emotions then thoughts and emotions must also affect our DNA."

Prophesy: 3 days of Darkness & Photon Belt

Friday, August 1, 2008

So…just as general culture, I will try to post here and there some information about some prophesies I have found, not only Mayans but just generals… at the end, everyone chooses to believe whatever they want, I’m just passing on the information.

“According to this every 10,700 years, Our solar system passes through a 2100 year-wide belt of highly charged ion particles known as the photon belt.”

“The core of the photon belt beliefs is that a an immense belt of photons exists, and orbits around the Pleiades, a star cluster some 440 light years away from Earth, composed of some 500 stars. According to some New Age beliefs, Earth will pass though this belt, resulting in either Humanity's elevation to a higher plain of existence or the end of the world”

“The Three Days of Darkness are not about fear and panic, but relate to Earth's ascension into the Fourth Dimension. Please understand that this is merely an attempt to prepare you for the ascension process. The Shift is about love, and any fear that you feel is what you have chosen. Choose wisely, my friends, for the Shift will be the beginning of an awakening to behold!”

“These Three Days of Darkness actually pertain to Mother Earth's entry into the Photon Belt. This event will involve three days of darkness, and this will herald the beginning of the Shift, or ascension, into the Fourth Dimension. “

To Provoke War, Cheney Considered Proposal To Dress Up Navy Seals As Iranians And Shoot At Them
Think Progress July 31, 2008

HERSH: There was a dozen ideas proffered about how to trigger a war. The one that interested me the most was why don’t we build — we in our shipyard — build four or five boats that look like Iranian PT boats. Put Navy seals on them with a lot of arms. And next time one of our boats goes to the Straits of Hormuz, start a shoot-up.

Might cost some lives. And it was rejected because you can’t have Americans killing Americans. That’s the kind of — that’s the level of stuff we’re talking about. Provocation. But that was rejected.

Gratitude is like a personal shopping list for the Universe. Taking actions rooted in gratitude is like adding italics, bold type and highlighting. It will get the attention of your Universal shopper.

2.) Get in the Flow.
Acting on your gratitude is a way of circulating this energetic wealth. Think of it this way: the Universe has given each of us a cup with free, unlimited refills. Can you refill your cup if it is still full? No. What happens if you keep it full for days. It begins to get nasty and stagnant. So, drink it up! Give it to others. Share the wealth! By pouring our wealth unto others, we make room for more ourselves.

3.) You Get What You Give.
There is a Universal Law that says you get what you give, times ten. In other words, you can never give away more than you receive. Oprah has been trying to out-give the Universe for years. We’ve watched it return to her ten-fold, time and time again. So, giving away nasty, negative vibes? I’m guessing you aren’t too happy with what you are receiving. Giving away love, love, and more love? I’d love to hang out with you! Seek to demonstrate this law for yourself. Start giving away some love and gratitude and watch yourself be filled to overflowing.

4.) Conscious Action = Mindfulness
When we consciously take action, we activate and expand our capacity for mindfulness. We put ourselves in a position to better witness our actions. This is the essence of mindfulness—becoming the witness. From this space we begin to see our actions clearly and can witness them as being either in alignment with our desires and idea of Self, or not.

5.) Be in your NOW.
Conscious Action = Mindfulness = the Present Moment. When we are taking conscious action, we place our attention fully on the moment at hand.

When Fear Inhibits Love

Saturday, July 26, 2008

I loved this text... so I thought I would share it.

When Fear Inhibits Love
by John Welshons

When we ask God for something, our prayers of petition are offered in two primary ways: 1) we ask to have something we want or to achieve something we want to possess; or 2) we ask to not have things and experiences we don't want.

We ask God to give us health, financial security, peace of mind, harmonious relationships, success, and protection from danger. Or we ask God to take away illness, financial difficulties, sadness, and exposure to peril. Sometimes we pray for our loved ones.

If we examine our motives honestly, we will usually find that there is some form of fear inspiring our prayers. We are afraid of something. And we are asking to be protected from whatever we are afraid of.

The fear that inspires us to pray actually gives us the most significant clue in our efforts to understand unanswered prayer. When our prayers aren't answered the way we want them to be, we often have to experience the things of which we are afraid. We are forced to confront our fear.

All fear arises from lack of trust in the universe. There are many experiences we just don't want. We are afraid that if we experience them, happiness will become impossible. We won't be safe. We may be emotionally shattered. Our life will be incomplete, unfulfilling, or more difficult than we are prepared for.

The Real Secret

Your emergency personal power source by S.K. Smith

Your intentions may not be able to completely control the world around you… but you can control how you react to it.

Over the past few years, The Secret and other books/movies/philosophies like it have brought the power of intention into our cultural consciousness, and that's a great thing - on a global scale. After all, taking personal responsibility for our circumstances and how we get into them is a key component to leading an enriched, abundant and participatory life. But what about when bad things happen to genuinely well-intentioned people? Natural disasters, corporate lay offs, freak accidents - things that are beyond our control occur all the time, often without any notice. It's in these situations where the real secret comes into play. The fact is, no matter what you've heard, you cannot completely control the world around you (consider the luck of the draw into which we are born and the fact that all of us - not just some - have free will). But you can dictate how you react to outside occurrences good and bad.

It starts with self-confidence
The foundation for happiness in good times and remaining unshaken (or at least unbroken) in the face of adversity is a solid sense of self. If you've taken the time to know yourself - who you are, your strengths and weaknesses and what you stand for, not only will you find life in general more pleasant, but you'll find it easier when the firestorm hits. Just be warned, bravado is a far cry from self-assurance. Cocky people puff up their chests and proclaim their capabilities. Confident people just do it - and know enough to ask for help in the areas where someone else may do it better. Which brings us to…

Ask and you will receive
The power of intention, while not able to prevent a tsunami, is very much real if for no other reason than it dictates the actions you take to achieve the goal. So if you're faced with a situation where you need help, open yourself up to the possibility of it coming by asking for it - rather than indulging yourself in the fear that it won't come. Fear-based behavior is a self-fulfilling prophecy. In other words, if you spend your time living in your fear, you all but guarantee it will come true. Instead, ask for and have faith in the assistance you need, and it will be provided… even if it begins an increased sense of inner strength that you can handle all that comes your way.

Cultivate grace under pressure
Over-reacting to any situation is the best way to send the wrong signals to the universe. No matter how awful, work on maintaining composure. If this means you have to believe in the impossible, then do it - so long as you continue to implore the practical. What does that mean? If an accident empties your bank account and your fear is you won't be able to pay your mortgage, don't panic and go into a poverty mindset. Instead, have faith that the money will come while you take every step you can think of to ensure that it does. Remaining kind, respectful and grateful when stress is mounting, and it would be natural for fear to take over, sends the message that you operate from a place of love… and that is the best thing you can do to invite more positivity into your life, no matter what the circumstances.

Metaphysics & Zero Point Field

Monday, July 21, 2008

"Psychologist Christopher Holmes discussed the physics and metaphysics of higher consciousness and the mysteries of the heart. People have a divine spark within the heart, a kind of "zero point" center that corresponds to ideas in new science, he said. Humans work on the same physics that are applied to the universe, he explained, and consciousness is not just in the head but all through the body, and may be related to blood flow."

The Top 10 Ways to Raise Your Consciousness

Sunday, July 13, 2008

Life can be a GIFT or a NIGHTMARE, depending on where you choose to operate from consciously. Practiced regularly, the following 10 tips will assist you in shining your beautiful unique light so brightly that your resulting raised consciousness will be a GIFT to yourself, humanity, and the Cosmos.

1. Forgive yourself and others. - Life is too short to hold on to regrets, grudges, miscommunications, or disappointments.
2. Practice gratitude and appreciation. - Whatever you focus on grows. So, when you focus on every thing in your life you have to feel grateful for and all the wonderful people you appreciate, the universe hands you more to feel grateful about.
3. Live each day as though it were your last.
4. Meditate/Pray. - Open your direct link between yourself and the spiritual realm.
5. Suspend judgment. - One judges another to feel less guilty about one’s own misgivings.
6. View every experience as a GIFT. - See how even the worst situations you experienced in your life ended up teaching you invaluable lessons and therefore ended up putting you in the perfect place for your continuing development.
7. Stay consciously aware of all of your thoughts and feelings.
8. Treat your physical body as your temple.
9. View the world through the eyes of a child. - Never get enough of observing and experiencing this life.
10. Give LOVE, LOVE, LOVE from your heart. - It’s all about love. Do you remember the feeling of being in love for the first time? Why was it so wonderful? That’s because love is the highest vibration. Allow yourself to receive love unconditionally from others. Give love from your heart unconditionally to yourself and others, and you will experience the highest state of consciousness possible.

Sea Level Rise...

Saturday, July 12, 2008

When you see those documentaries where they talk about the sea level rising and how many cities are going underwater... have you ever thought if your city is going to end up under the water?

Now you can check what would happen to your city with the following tool: http://flood.firetree.net/

Real World Implications...

  • "currently, more than 200 million people live in coastal floodplains around the world, with two million square kilometres of land and one trillion dollars worth of assets less than one metre elevation above current sea level."
  • "Many of the world’s major cities (22 of the top 50) are at risk of flooding from coastal surges, including Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Kolkata, Karachi, Buenos Aires, St Petersburg, New York, Miami and London. In almost every case, the city relies on costly flood defences for protection. Even if protected, these cities would lie below sea level with a residual risk of flooding like New Orleans today."
  • "“The water supplies of dozens of major cities around the world are at risk from a previously ignored aspect of global warming. Within the next few decades rising sea levels will pollute underground water reserves with salt…"

Time travel, possible?

Thursday, July 10, 2008

Two Russian mathematicians have theorised that 2008 will be the first year time travel is possible, claiming the the giant atom-smasher at the European centre for nuclear research, Cern, near Geneva, could make it possible to travel backwards or forwards in time. Photo: Wormhole Benji64/Wikipedia

"Two Russian mathematicians have theorised that 2008 will be the first year time travel is possible, claiming the the giant atom-smasher at the European centre for nuclear research, Cern, near Geneva, could make it possible to travel backwards or forwards in time. The so-called wormhole is a theoretical joining of two portions of curved space-time which would transport an object into the future (or past) in an instant."

"As time travel can only go back, in theory, to the first ever time machine, explains the New Scientist, if the Russian mathematicians are correct, 2008 would be "Year Zero" and stand as a major landmark in world history."

"However as the New Scientist suggests, even though time travel is possible under the laws of physics, the difficulties of ever achieving this feat are immense. The Collider is also designed to study the nature of forces at a sub-atomic level and could therefore only be an accidental time machine. In other words, experts say though theoretically possible, time travel is considered highly unlikely."

The Day Out of Time - July 25th, 2008

Wednesday, July 9, 2008

The Day out of Time, celebrated annually always falls on July 25th. On the Mayan 13 Moon calendar, this day is no day of the month, and no day of the week. It is inbetween the closing of the previous year (July 24th) and the dawning of the new year (July 26th). This upcoming July 25th we are going to be closing the year of the "Wizard" and starting the year of the "Storm".

To many people the starting of the year of the storm means there will be a lot of movement and great changes on earth that involves water and earth, but also to all those who are still not seeking their inner balance this year will bring a lot of storms in the personal aspect.

This day is to work on the personal aspect, to meditate and celebrate it with the people we care about, to be united and not to be isolated from the rest of the world, that is why all around the world there will be meditations or celebrations to close a cycle and welcome a new one.

The 13 year cycle of the final judgment is arriving to its last 4 years, the changes will be bigger, and greater, and the masks of people will have to start fading... the storm will be violent, yes, but it will only bring "awakening" to the people...

There will be events conducted all over the world:
PAN-RAP Argentina / Queretaro, Mexico / Xalapa, Veracruz / Mexico City, Mexico / Alicante, Spain / Monterrey, Mexico / San Francisco Bay Area, California / Cape Town / Newark, NJ / Buenos Aires / Teotihuacan, Mexico / Durango, Mexico / Melbourne, Australia / Austin, Texas / La Plata Biorregion La Luna, Argentina / Riviera Maya, Quintana Roo / Soultzbach-les-Bains, France / Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada / Assende, Belgie / Durban, South Africa / Crystal Lake, Illinois / Landgoed de Horst, Driebergen / Bogota, Colombia

2008... year zero! - 4 days until time travel might be possible?

Thursday, July 3, 2008

It seems like its going to be that way...! I wonder how long they kept this secret and how much money they invested in this thing.

So... year 2008 is going to officially become year Zero for time travelers.

The invention: Large Hadron Collider.

"Starting sometime next summer if all goes to plan, subatomic particles will begin shooting around a 17-mile underground ring stretching from the European Center for Nuclear Research, or Cern, near Geneva, into France and back again — luckily without having to submit to customs inspections."

“We are now on the endgame,” said Lyn Evans, of Cern, who has been in charge of the Large Hadron Collider, as it is called, since its inception. Call it the Hubble Telescope of Inner Space. Everything about the collider sounds, well, large — from the 14 trillion electron volts of energy with which it will smash together protons, its cast of thousands and the $8 billion it cost to build, to the 128 tons of liquid helium needed to cool the superconducting magnets that keep the particles whizzing around their track and the three million DVDs worth of data it will spew forth every year.

The World's Largest 'Time Machine' Finally Revealed – Federal Court Law Suit Filed

CERN completes 'world’s largest jigsaw puzzle'
"The European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) last Friday lowered into position the final major component of its Large Hadron Collider (LHC) - a 100-tonne "small" wheel which forms part of the ATLAS muon spectrometer."

If The Large Hadron Collider Produced A Microscopic Black Hole, It Probably Wouldn't Matter
"The LHC, near Geneva, Switzerland, is expected to begin operations this summer. It will collide proton beams at levels of energy never before produced in a particle accelerator. Those results will then be studied for clues to new forces of nature, and possibly even extra dimensions of space. The first collision of beams is likely to be in September. The $8 billion project has taken 14 years"

Could the Large Hadron Collider destroy Earth?

Update (July 9,08): The launch of the LHC has been posponed for a whole month now, you can see on the countdown webpage, as of today there is still 29 more days left to go.

Mayan knowledge about relationships.

I got this from my teacher last Thursday.

Every single relationship we are in, are a mirror or ourselves. Every single person we attract into our lives is here to teach us a lesson of something we need to heal.

7 Rules for good relationships:

1. Pure, clear, incondicional love… DOESNT EXIST!... it only exist within ourselves, we need to love and accept ourselves the way we are.

2. Ego/Personality will never fill you completely…which means, we usually go looking for someone that is going to cover up a hole or wound we have inside.

3. Forgive others because they don’t love you the way you wish they did… because everyone has a different definition of what is love and how it is demonstrated, because these definitions we leaned when we were little by watching at our parents “show each other how much they love”.

4. Stop looking for “the one”, the “blue prince”… because he/she doesn’t exist.

5. Don’t try to change others so they please you… no one can read your mind.

6. Every relationship we are in, reflects what is going on inside us… so we should look into our friends, partners, wives/husbands, how are they? What type of people we attract into our lives?... The way you treat yourself, is the way others will treat you.

7. Your relationships will change, when you change yourself.

More on 2012...

Wednesday, July 2, 2008

So on one side we have a Mayan priest saying nothing is going to happen, and on the other side we have people saying that the Planet X/Niburu is what is going to happen.

I guess... "what we think about, we bring about"... so while I am very curious about all this happenings and information that is being spread on the internet, i am mostly working with myself to heal and become "transparent"... to become conscious about the world and the people around me, to expand my consciousness about life. Whatever happens, it is way better to be ready for the worst and expect the best than DO NOTHING AT ALL!...

On the other notes... i attach interviews from 2 different Mayan priests... I wonder if both are just fake people trying to get attention?... or not?

First aricle here.

"What is the significance of the Dec. 21, 2012 date in the Mayan calendar, or your intuitive sense of it as a Mayan priest. There was a program about it on the History channel, referring to the Doomsday in several cultures coinciding on this date. Is this a passage into a new way of life, rather than an end? What can you tell people about this fast-approaching date?"

"Nothing is going to happen in 2012. There is no Mayan prophecy about 2012. In addition to the Chol Qij the Mayans have various other calendar counts of lesser mantic importance. One of these is the Long Count, which is a continuous count in days since August 9th, 3114 BCE. The Long Count will reset to zero-zero-zero-zero-zero on December 21, 2012. But this is just a major calendar change – their equivalent of Y2K – with no more spiritual significance than the change of millenium had for us. This 2012 thing is being touted by some non-Mayans as a kind of New Age version of the Rapture: a miraculous transformation of human consciousness which sweeps humanity up into the clouds to escape the coming tribulation. But things don’t happen that way in real life. If there is a fundamental transformation in human consciousness, the way it will probably occur is that the environment and civilization will deteriorate over the next few decades. And then people will draw together and open their hearts to one another, as they do in the face of any natural catastrophe such as an earthquake or flood. When people lose their faith in the system and start listening to their own hearts is when the system will change. "

Second article here.

"The question-and-answer period was as intriguing as his speech. Someone asked about the date of 2012. Don Alejandro is respected as the greatest Mayan astrologer of his people. So it came as quite a surprise to hear him tell us that the date is not accurate. Going into great detail of how the jigsaw of the Gregorian calendar had been wrapped around the Mayan calendar to create this date, he stated that the date can not be determined with our calendar. Many of the 20 Mayan calendars that help make up the Long Calendar have been stolen or destroyed. So we can only approximate the time of the end of the Long Calendar."

How HAPPY are you?

Tuesday, July 1, 2008

Are you the happiest person you know? If not, why not? Most people will reel off their current worries — the job, the kids, the car, the price of fish. I don’t mean to sweep these aside: problems need to be solved, if you can, or waited out until they disappear . But as far as living happily is concerned you have to face a crucial fact. If you can only live happily after all your problems are solved, you are never going to live happily, because when today’s problems are gone and forgotten, others will take their place. So either living happily is just impossible, or you have to do it in spite of your problems.

Being happy depends not so much on external circumstances as on your inner life. This means all your thoughts, perceptions, beliefs, emotions, desires, dreams — your entire mental and emotional scene. Happiness is about how you react inwardly to events, what you think and believe, how you feel, how problems affect you. It may sound obvious, but like many obvious things it’s something that is often forgotten when it matters most. We focus almost exclusively on our external lives, on getting and spending and having fun, and then wonder why we are not happy. But it’s when our inner lives are tranquil that we are happiest and we call this inner peace.

So how is inner peace to be achieved? Is it a question of religion, perhaps, or yoga? These can certainly help but only if they have a positive effect on your inner life. The difficulty is that inner life is based on patterns and habits — some you were born with, most you have acquired . You don’t choose, occasion by occasion, how you respond inside when something happens....

This process is not something you can do overnight, it’s a whole new way of life, but the reward is what we all want most — happiness. There are five main skills you need to cultivate.

Mindfullness - ability to focus your thoughts in the present. (yeah right!!!)
Compassion - put yourself in their place and ask yourself what they might they be thinking or feeling to behave like that.
Story skills - Start to think of your beliefs as stories, and it is easier to accept that other things might be true as well, or even instead
Letting-go techniques - These are particularly helpful when we are unhappy not getting what we want. Generally, we are encouraged to keep wanting and to think that more will make us happier, whether it’s clothes or cars or even love. But wanting is a treadmill: as long as you have unsatisfied wants and desires you won’t be at peace, so to be happy you either have to satisfy all your desires, or let go of some of them. Letting-go skills also include forgiveness, which helps hugely if one of the things you think you want is revenge.
Enjoyment skills - This last group includes skills such as patience , humour and, especially, gratitude . You don’t have to be grateful to someone, it’s enough to cultivate gratitude for things.

Go Your Own Way: Gnosis And The Fractal Spiral

You have to work on yourself before you can really get anywhere. No one can do it for you. The magical codex and the dimensional escape hatch remain firmly out of reach for now. The flame will burn those who are unable to hold it safely in their hands. The universe insists, most adamantly, that we learn how to do it all by ourselves. Gnosis, spiritual attainment, esoteric wisdom. Whatever you want to call it. No cheating, no looking at your friend's paper, no plagiarising - you must do your own thing in your own way. Otherwise, we are compelled to repeat the same tests over and over again, through multiple lifetimes, until we finally figure it out. So you have to do the homework. Sharpen your blade. Keep moving. Fortunately, there is no time limit and everyone’s ascendant path is custom-built for their own unique growth pattern. In spiritual terms, it’s a win-win situation.

To help penetrate the all-pervading mists of the illusion, one must first acknowledge that consciousness is not the accidental and purposeless by-product of the human condition. The perceived world that we appear to be locked inside, like the silver ball in a pinball machine, is wholly a construct of consciousness. The pinball constructs the machine around itself. Whilst a testing notion for even the most elastic of modern philosophical minds, it has been known for aeons by the ancient mystical traditions and experienced directly by the indigenous shamanic cultures of every continent. Now, it is being evoked again as a progressive scientific theory in quantum physics. It is not new information we are bringing to mind, not by any means. It is better described as a remembrance.

If you trace the origins of the major monotheistic organized religions back far enough, it becomes clear that they were never designed to help the individual grow and develop. They were there to control land, dictate moral and social norms and separate the common man from his divine heritage. Higher consciousness, personal freedom and spiritual communion, far from being the core elements of their basic mystical teachings, were concepts firmly discouraged by the various priest castes. In their place, the disempowering qualities of submission, victimhood, repression and guilt became the preferred tenets of worshipful compliance.

No ice??... Save the Polar Bears!! =(

Saturday, June 28, 2008

So... people who don't want to believe, might say this is cyclical thing, and yes it might be, however it is going to start affecting us in our own daily lives, and some of us will be blind to see the changes, and some of us will just see the signs...

Poor polar bears....

So what would really happen?

"Another warming ocean event that scientists are studying closely is the migration of king crabs. Marine remotely operated vehicles have captured photos of these giant crabs on the Antarctic Slope, where underwater land starts to rise up to the southernmost continent. It's the first time in tens of millions of years that these predators have appeared that close to Antarctica."

" "In Antarctica, as the air temperature warms up, the humidity rises and the ability of snowfall to occur increases," McClintock said. That snowfall can affect the mortality of penguin eggs."

Ice self collapse: What does it mean?

North Pole May Be Ice Free for First Time This Summer
"We're actually projecting this year that the North Pole may be free of ice for the first time [in history],"

(CNN) -- The North Pole may be briefly ice-free by September as global warming melts away Arctic sea ice, according to scientists from the National Snow and Ice Data Center in Boulder, Colorado.

"It's not cyclical at this point. I think we understand the physics behind this pretty well," he said. "We've known for at least 30 years, from our earliest climate models, that it's the Arctic where we'd see the first signs of global warming. "It's a situation where we hate to say we told you so, but we told you so," he said.

North Pole could be ice-free this summer, scientists say.

Pale Blue Dot

Seen from 6.4 billion kilometres away, Earth is a dot obscured in a beam of scattered sunlight (pinpointed by artificial blue circle).

Seen from 6.4 billion kilometres away, Earth is a dot obscured in a beam of scattered sunlight (pinpointed by artificial blue circle).

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader", every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there-on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds.

Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.

The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.

It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.

The world is closer to apocalypse because of climate change and nuclear proliferation, Professor Stephen Hawking and other prominent scientists warned yesterday as the hand of a symbolic Doomsday Clock moved two minutes closer to midnight.

The clock, devised at the dawn of the nuclear age, made official what many now feel in their bones — that mankind is heading for catastrophe.
"We foresee great peril if governments and societies do not take action now," said Prof Hawking.

The effect of the Solar storms on our lives

Monday, June 23, 2008

The onset of a new solar cycle is significant because of our increasingly space-based technological society.

"Solar storms can disable satellites that we depend on for weather forecasts and GPS navigation," says Hathaway. Radio bursts from solar flares can directly interfere with cell phone reception while coronal mass ejections (CMEs) hitting Earth can cause electrical power outages. "The most famous example is the Quebec outage of 1989, which left some Canadians without power for as much as six days."

Air travel can be affected, too.

Every year, intercontinental flights carry thousands of passengers over Earth’s poles. It's the shortest distance between, say, New York and Tokyo or Beijing and Chicago. In 1999, United Airlines made just twelve trips over the Arctic. By 2005, the number of flights had ballooned to 1,402. Other airlines report similar growth.

"Solar storms have a big effect on polar regions of our planet," says Steve Hill of the Space Weather Prediction Center. "When airplanes fly over the poles during solar storms, they can experience radio blackouts, navigation errors and computer reboots all caused by space radiation." Avoiding the poles during solar storms solves the problem, but it costs extra time, money and fuel to "take the long way around."

Effect of the moon on a man.

Friday, June 20, 2008

I have always been fond of the moon and nature… (not frogs and snakes….haha!) so every month when there is a full moon I feel relaxed and I just love looking at it whenever I can. The best moons are the ones towards the end of the year, the October moon is awesome…

So I was wondering on how really the Moon affects us as humans, and I found this interesting article:

The frequencies emanating from the Moon affect the frequencies of the mental body, i.e. mind of human beings. By ‘mind’ we mean our feelings, emotions and desires. The mind consists of the conscious mind and the sub-conscious mind. Within the sub-conscious mind we have a number of impressions that are embedded that decide our basic nature and personality. We are however not aware of the thoughts or impressions in our sub-conscious mind. These impressions get collected over a number of lifetimes.

These impressions in our mind are the catalysts for all our thoughts and subsequent actions. Both the impressions and our thoughts have their own subtle frequencies.”

“However on a full moon day as the moon frequencies are more active, a heightened activity of the mind is observed

“However for most people the thoughts are random. If there are a number of dominant personality defects such as anger, greed, etc. then they too may surface and dominate our thoughts during this period. For example an alcoholic will get more thoughts about the need to drink alcohol on this day.”

It is also possible to awaken thoughts about Spirituality that lie inert in the sub-conscious mind of a spiritual person by taking advantage of the heightened mind activity and by increasing spiritual practice on a full moon day.”

2008 Democratic National Convention

Wednesday, June 18, 2008

"The 2008 Democratic National Convention will be held from August 25 to August 28 at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. At its convention, the Democratic Party will nominate its candidates for President and Vice President of the United States. By virtue of his lead among elected delegates and superdelegates, it is presumed Barack Obama will receive the nomination for President." source.

Denver Cops Stock Up On “Non-Lethal” Weapons for DNC
“Denver police are stocking up on guns that fire a pepper spray-like substance instead of bullets — a less-lethal weapon used to disperse crowds — in advance of the Democratic National Convention,”

Military choppers fly over Denver during top secret drill
"A military spokesman, though insisted to the Rocky Mountain News that the military drills were unrelated to planning for the convention, which is expected to draw thousands of protesters as did the 2004 party conventions in Boston and New York."

Martial Law Exercises Continue in Denver

"Re-Create 68 has promised demonstrations that will rival those at the notorious Democratic convention in Chicago held in 1968, which was accompanied by street battles between police and anti-Vietnam War demonstrators."

Destiny VS Free Will

So i was talking with someone from work... about destiny, she says she is curious about having the tarot cards read but then she says, what if he tells me something and i just make it happen with my thoughts, what if i just attract everything to me?.

So we made a deal... she is going with a guy who reads the tarot cards and she is going to be listening to her past and present, but her future a frind of her is going to write it down (without her listening to it) and is going to put it away... and 6 months from now she is going to read the paper and see if whatever happened to her was what the tarot cards said, to know if whatever was there, was meant to happen or not.

So what I think is, there is a destiny... there are 3-4 big lessons in life we come to learn and if we dont learn them then those lessons are passed down to our next life. However that we get to choose how to learn them, we get to choose our friends, and schools, our studies, our likes and dislikes... we get to choose our everyday living matters...

On an article on a website called Spiritual Research i found that our lives and composed by those 2 important factors:

  • The popular western view is that we are in control of our lives and everything that happens to us is as a result of our own choice.

  • On the other hand the popular eastern view is that every thing that happens to us is not under our control and we are nothing but puppets in a preordained plan.

Destiny 65% vs Wilful action 35%

However neither of these views are completely correct. The answer according to the science of Spirituality is that in the present times 65% of our lives are ruled by destiny and 35% by willful action.

But we can overcome the 65% of our destiny part, by using the 35% of our willful action to undertake the correct spiritual practice.

4 Movies about 2012...

Saturday, June 14, 2008

Ok so... was doing a little search for a movie i saw the other day at the "pulga" and found out that there is a lot more movies about 2012 that are being done and released in the next couple years. It should be interesting what they say about all this...

From the little teaser trailer of the Michael Bay's movie... I think I will enjoy seeing it, but then again is Hollywood... !!

Movie: 2012
Paramount Pictures
Director: Tom Dey
..."the movie will be about a family vacation during that fateful month when, according to the Mayan calendar, and some UFO theorists, something devastating is expected to take place. 2012 will be written by Tom Astle and Matt Ember, and it will probably be directed by Tom Dey -- all three of whom were responsible for Failure to Launch."

Movie: 2012 Doomsday (already released in 2008)
Director: Nick Everheart
..."Four strangers on a journey of faith are drawn to an ancient temple in the heart of Mexico on December 21, 2012. For the Mayans it is the last recorded day. For NASA scientists it is a cataclysmic polar shift. For the rest of us, it is Doomsday."

Movie: 2012: The War for Souls (to be released in 2010)
Director: Michael Bay
Warner Bros
..."Transformers director Michael Bay is eyeing sci-fi author Whitley Strieber’s forthcoming novel 2012: The War for Souls."
..."Apparently, 2012 will be a big year for planet Earth, at least according to many folk traditions: 2012 is suppossedly to be a year of either great spiritual transformation — or apocalypse. The Mayan calendar held that it would be a time when the existing world order would be reversed. Nostradamus forecasted that a rather large comet would rudely arrive on Earth’s doorstep no later than 2012. The Roman Catholic Saint Malachy predicted that in 2012, the last Pope would arrive, triggering Judgment Day. And in both “The X Files” and amongst certain UFO theorists, 2012 is the year aliens invade Earth. Even regular, non-nutty scientists also speculate that in 2012 a polar reversal will take place on carth, and that once the earth starts rotating in the opposite direction, natural disasters of unknown proportions may occur."
